Recent Happenings!

Hi Folks!
Ive been quite busy recently, coursework just comes all at once, and when you have a shit teacher, it really does start to get outve hand! Honestly.. Anyway, Im not going to rant about that!
Two nights ago, I slept in my contact lens. I was mortified when I woke up, I didnt know what to do. But I remember my friend saying not to try and get it out straight away, so I waited 20 antagonising minutes to remove the darn thing.
It wasnt as bad as id imagined it to be honest, but I still wouldnt reccommend it.
I am still honourary vegetarian, but I miss meat so much! Craving it more than everr!
Been taking part in my fifteen hour Art exam this week, lacking the motivation to do it.
Ill find it somewhere tho, dont worry.

Stay Cool.

Erm guys, I think its Friday..

It took to her being a trending topic on twitter before I searched her, but after typing her name into Google and finding her video, I'm starting to think I wish I didn't.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be nasty but as a music lover, something must be said. She looks like a lovely girl, but the song actually makes me want to die.

One of my favourite parts of the song is near the beginning actually. There's a dilemma at whether she should sit in the front of her friends car or in the back. This part of the song relates well to me as this is a problem I also face daily. I for one, didn't sing about it.

Another great part of the song is where she reminds us what order the days of the week go in. Cos "yesterday was Thursday, Thursday, Today is Friday, Friday (partyin')" and then "tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards." You all got that? Yeah? Cos it goes Thursday, Friday, then Saturday and Sunday, okay?

Yet again, I can stress how much I am not talking about Rebecca Black, just the lyrics of the song do not make sense. I wish Rebecca all the best in the future, with OTHER SONGS.

Watch her video for Friday on Youtube here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0

Let me know what you think?

Have fun and remember, Saturday comes after Friday,

Don't mind if eye do!

Ever since I was a baby, I've not had the best eyesight in the world. I suffered from a squint and a lazy eye, had to have eye patches AND glasses. When I was about fourteen, my eyesight got better and I didn't need glasses. Then it worsened again.

Now I have one stronger eye that is short-sighted and one weaker eye that is long-sighted. I need glasses for long-sighted activities such as driving and board work at sixth form, but I hated wearing them, so I decided to go for contact lenses.

The optician checked my eyes first to make sure my eyes were healthy and that contact lenses would be okay with my eyes. He then put a contact lens in one of my eyes (the strong short sighted one) as he thought I'd get away with not putting a lens in my long sighted eye as it is only a small prescription.

I then, under the instructions of another optician, had to remove the lens and place it back in three times. It was hard at first, really hard, but I was given some lenses to try. Now I wear them almost everyday. Its sometimes still awkward to get them out, but I think its the best thing I've done. It is honestly amazing.

What's putting you off contact lenses? You do know they can't get lost in your eyes, don't you?

Can't beat a Cuppa!

There's nothing me (and the rest of you brits) love more than a cup of tea! I'm ashamed to admit this, but I don't know a lot about tea, and so I thought I'd research some tea facts. The ones below are from the UK Tea Council's website : http://www.tea.co.uk/teafacts

- Tea contains half the amount of caffeine found in coffee.

- The number of recommended cups of tea to drink each day is 4, this gives you optimal benefit.

- Tea was created more than 5000 years ago in China.

- Tea is a natural source of fluoride that can help protect against tooth decay and gum disease

- Tea has potential health maintenance benefits in cardiovascular disease and cancer prevention.

- 98% of people take their tea with milk, but only 30% take sugar in tea.

I am part of the 30% who has sugar in their tea. Probably cancels out the health benefits, but oh well!

Bottoms up!

Meat Free!

Okay, so for lent I have given up meat. It has been nine days, and I'm not telling you it was easy because it wasn't..

I've tried quorn before and didn't really mind it, but when your substituting good old chicken for 'chicken style quorn' it doesn't half taste horrendous!

I tasted Falafel for the first time, and I thought it was nice, but not very. I'm staying away from cous cous as I've tried that and didn't really like it.

So, I am not doing this as some diet fad, I'm doing this to prove to myself that I can do this!

Wish me look for the next 31 days!

Letting the World pass you by..

Sat here in Costa Coffee where I have spent the afternoon (and a rather large part of it) discovering how nice it is to actually not do much. I have probably been here the longest out of all the coffee-goers and I am probably the only one who forgot my coffee club points card, dammit!

As the actual coffee drinkers are drinking their coffee and I'm intent on having the weaker stuff, a good old British cup of tea (four of them actually..) I have read two magazines I recently purchased, cover to cover and have thoroughly relaxed, so much that I don't think I can bear to move in case my legs give way. If that happened, the hardcore caffeine addicts will laugh and point. So I better not, and save myself some dignity and carry on sipping my slightly cold brew.

Thoroughly enjoying my afternoon watching everyone else go about their lives whilst I people watch and chat small talk to the occasional family that sits next to me.

Will certainly be doing this more often!

When Life Hands You Lemons..

Today I have been handed lemons. Lemon's in the form of a Conditional Offer to the University that happens to be my first choice.. However, its not for the course I applied for. Okay, it is but they have offered me for a course that has a prequel year of preparing portfolios etc, before actually starting the course I wanted to do.

I suppose it is like a Foundation Degree before I start, which is good as I still avoid the nine-thousand-pound-a-year-life-trap. But I originally wanted to jump straight into the course.

University for 4 years of my life and then maybe 5 if I chose to do a masters..?

Should I just squeeze?

Yours, deep in thought..

Freedom of Speech?

We've all heard about the recent comments made by Andy Gray about women, and after hearing about the story, I was pretty annoyed. Gray said that 'women do not know the offside rule.' A pretty stupid thing to say - I am a woman, I know the offside rule. I believe all women would know the offside rule if they had time to be taught it. If Gray had said this alone I do not think he would have lost his job, however he has been caught saying other sexist things in the past also. The comment Gray made to Charlotte Jackson, I believe crossed the line.

I think what Gray said was terrible, but I do not entirely agree with him loosing his job. The action seems pretty drastic, and whatever did happen to freedom of speech? Dont get me wrong, what he said was wrong and if it were said to me I'd have given him a piece of my mind, but losing his job after saying something to someone else intended private, worries me a little.

This brings in a recent letter I read in a magazine where someone asks the law on whether it is acceptable to look at a potential employee on Facebook. - No it is not illegal, but if you were to base whether the applicant was not suitable for the job on something you found on the page, that would be. I heard that Universities also look at your profile if you apply - lets just say ive been monitoring my status updates! Looks like we have all got to be careful what we say!

Would love to know what you think?!
