Poor Postie!

So after figuring out that my internet has banned sites like twitter and blogger, my phone is in overdrive.

I have just had a 3 hour shift in work and it was practically dead. We don't even have any aircon.

I have a Business exam tomorrow which I am glad to say I feel quite prepared for.. Let's hope I say that whilst looking at the questions !

I have also order a lot of prospectuses today to look at universities, poor postie!

Adios Amigos!

CL #1

This is a very exciting moment for me, as I am beggining a new 'feature' if you will. This is 'Curremtly Listening' because its lovely when you've forgotten how good a song is and you get reminded of it when its on a TV programme or something.

So here is number 1 of many more to come!
PAOLO NUTINI - LAST REQUEST

Good song to start with? Me thinks so too..

Cranky Bus Drivers

So, I havent updated for a while.. Yesterday, I had an experience that happened to annoy me quite alot.
I was travelling upto my boyfriends, which requires 2 busses and a train, and my arms were full. The first bus came and I had already got my fare out so I didnt have to fiddle about in my bag for it.Anyway, she told me that the pound coin I had given her was foreign. (FORGIVE ME FOR THINKING THAT BRITAIN WAS THE ONLY COUNTRY USING THE POUND) So she told me she couldn't accept it. So I asked, "I have another one in my bag if you want me to get you it?" AND I didnt recieve a 'yes please' but a 'hurry up!' I thought that was plain rude! So I got her one, and she started ranting about how it makes her job easier! Well it would have made my life easier if she'd just accepted the damn coin!

I even then went to a shop in the station and told them, handing in the same coin, and they said nothing was wrong with it! They accepted it in exchange for COMPANY Mag. Which was quite a nice end to my first bus ride. Anyway, everyone else I met on that journey was pleasant so I guess it wasn't that bad.

All Good Things Come To An End.

Truu dat.
Couldn't resist that obv. But yeah, right now I feel as if something that used to be a massive part in my life has ended, and it sometimes makes me feel glad, and sometimes sad, and a lot of the time, its pretty god damn awkward. I am certain, that it is a good thing, as it has caused me a lot of aggravation in the past, but it also has made me happier. Ill update you when I have established this further.

Eggs, Chickens and Fridges

Sat in form today, a friend asked me, how we get Chickens? I answered the logical answer (from an egg..) And she then asked, well how do we get eggs that we eat? And I answered 'from a hen.' She then asked, how do the eggs decide what there going to be? Well this started a very lengthy discussion. I will repeat the verdict, just so that all bloggers know the basics on egg laying.

Eggs are created inside a chicken, and if a chicken, has mated the egg will become fertilised. And then after laying the egg, if the chicken sits on it long enough to keep it warm and let it grow, it will develop into a chicken that will hatch. (This is not like getting an egg out of the fridge and sitting on it.) The egg needs to be sat on alot, other wise it is miscarried, and turns into a normal egg with a red blood spot in it (the would have been chick.) If a male is not present, the eggs will not be fertilised and therefore are laid for eating purposes only.

I hope that this has increased your knowledge of eggs and chickens.

Phone Calls & Signal Loss

That blog title sounds like a title to a song by an indie band doesn't it! Its probably my inspiration. Cross between the rather large man blasting out heavy metal music so the whole carriage could hear and the man on the phone who was saying, "I lost reception," (murmured 'what' on the other end) "I haven't any reception, I've lost signal." Is it not clear that he still does not have any signal?
You meet some marvelous people on trains you do..

Update!

So I haven't updated my blog recently, which is pretty shameful of me, I know! But I have fitted time in now, so that's the main point..

Okay so rather a lot to update about. In Citizenship the other day we were discussing what it means to be British. We got the chance to take a mini quiz, with questions that people actually have to take to be a British Citizen. You had to get 75% correct to become one (theoretically - as everyone was a British Citizen anyway..) and not one person in the class managed to get at least 75%. And I think that is truly shameful. Not one of us knew enough about the place we live in. I hate to think that we, as people who should take pride in Britain know less that people who apply to live here. I guess that were just taking it for granted.. :/ I personally would love to go all around Britain, however, I just don't have the money to do it. I actually would if I could, I'd actually love to, and maybe someday I will. But cmon, not everyone in the whole of Britain is strapped for cash or time are they?

Beautiful Day, Beautiful Picture

This is a picture I took on the train journey on the 20/02 and thought it turned out pretty nice!

All I really need!

Took this photo on the train home yesterday. This is basically all I need for a train journey. I just pop my earphones into my phone, and scare all the other passengers with my singing!

Happy Pancake Day!

Happy Pancake Day everyone! I have unfortunatley not had any pancakes yet, and I am not sure it is likely to happen. I am at my boyfriend's house in York, and the weather has been pretty random. One minute it looks like rain and the next its sunny. James is currently washing his, his brother's and his dad's motocross bikes. Kini (the dog) is loving everyone being outside, usually she hates it when she's the only one outside. She has run off twice, and now I currently do not know where she is.
The picture is of Kini earlier today when she was dying to be outside, and looking at things around the garden that needed chasing. Which, come to think of it, is what she is doing right about now..

Example

I went to see Tinchy Stryder at Academy Leeds on Wed evening, and Example was supporting. He was the only reason I went, that and the fact that a group of thirty of us went.
He was amazing! When he did Watch the Sun Come Up came on, I went mad. It was amazing. Dirty face was great also. He has a wicked way with the crowd! Now when I listen to his music, I get butterflies.
And Yes, Elliot did wave at me!

It was a reallyy good set. I didnt want him to leave, was gutted when he went off stage. I took the photo from his facebook : HERE. No infringement intended.
Seriously. He was mega, and I canot wait till his tour! For more information on his tour hit this link HERE.

Technology that empowers me.

I use some sort of technology EVERY day, my phone, my laptop, an iPod. I do take technology for granted. I mean, back in the good old day children had to play with sticks, hoops, and marbles. Now, we have everything.

I once had an iPod. Actually I have had a few, I had a black iPod, which I gave my elder sister once I got a new silver Nano. I had that quite a while, and sold it to my younger sister, as I needed some money. So I had (and still have) an iPod shuffle, but I didn’t like using it. So I got given an iPod Nano just like my silver one, but in green. However, it fell down the drain as I got out of the car at school. My iPod was awesome, I took it everywhere and it cured hours of possible boredom.

I got a laptop for Christmas 2009, and so far, it has been good to me. Even though it lets me access the internet, lets me watch DVD’s and other various things, but my laptop does not empower me.

However, my mobile phone does. I have a Blackberry Curve 8520. Before I had this phone, I had a Siemens SL75 as I broke my Sony Ericson. Imagine how I felt when I was using a terrible phone, and then the next minute I had a brand new Blackberry in my hands. I love it, ever so much. It does everything. Email, SMS, Facebook, Twitter, Word Documents, Spreadsheets, Music, Camera. I really love it. Sometimes, I think how can something so small, be able to do all those things. How does it manage to do all that?! Some days I wake up and think, ‘Oh my god, I have a blackberry!’ It truly empowers me and I cannot live without it.

What technology empowers you? Would you be able to live without it?

How I use Facebook.

I joined Facebook quite a while ago now, and as soon as I joined I felt that I had to check it frequently. I had Facebook about the same time I was thinking of deleting my Bebo profile. As it happens, I did end up deleting my Bebo profile along with the majority of my Bebo friends, who now also have Facebook. Facebook, I suppose, has become a rather large part in my life. That might be because I have a facebook application on my blackberry, so I feel obliged to go on it.

However, it could be the fact that all the other Facebookers send me posts rather a lot.
Apart from receiving messages and keeping in contact with friends, I also use Facebook to publish photos to share with my friends, to let people know what I have been up to and to see what other people have been up to also.

One thing I cannot stand on facebook is when people use all the applications under the sun and flood my homepage with them. There was a time and a place for Farmville, and its passed I’m afraid. Yes, I did use it once, but I changed the application settings so that it wouldn’t appear on everybody’s news feed.

I also make sure I don’t update my status too regularly just so that I don’t clog every one else’s news feed up. I cannot stand when people pour their hearts into their status’ every five minutes. I mean, “Rachel is upset,” is one thing, but “Rachel is upset because her pet has died and her boyfriend has dumped her” is a whole different matter! (I’ve never had a pet, and my boyfriend has not dumped me.) Then about five minutes later, another heartfelt message. I mean, imagine you have just met someone you really like, and they read your recent status’ and they are emotional, they are going to think that you are all over the place. I’m not over reacting though am I? Is it too much to ask for people to hold themselves until they are in the comfort of their own rooms with no witnesses and their diary?

Maybe this post should have been appropriately named, ‘My Pet Hates about Facebook & Facebookers’ but there is something about ‘How I use Facebook,’ so I will just have to use the pet hates ideas in another post. In the mean time, I want to know, “What are your biggest pet hates whilst using Facebook?”

I deleted all of my old posts as I believe there was way too much negativity in there. I also, have changed my Blog name, and my profile.
I really hope my new posts interest you, as I am going to put so much effort into this from now on, my creative outlet. I have alot of ideas from various outlets, such as Chris Brogan and so my blog will be updated quite frequently!
